Labor Day Weekend: A Surprise Birthday Party & Jimmy Buffett

We've had a pretty busy Labor Day Weekend this year! Right now I'm lounging on the couch avoiding cleaning my nightmare of a bedroom, but I'll eventually have to make my way upstairs to get it straight.

On Friday a group of friends and I surprised my best friend with a surprise 30th birthday party! She actually turns 30 years old tomorrow, so we surprised her a little early. We'd been scheming for a few weeks, and I'm happy to say everything turned out PERFECT! All I wanted was for her to be truly surprised!

Nicole and her husband had 5pm massage appointments, and afterward she was under the impression that Scott and I would come into town and we would go to dinner together. She was secretly thinking that *maybe* there would be a surprise for her at dinner, so she was completely blindsided when she walked in the door of her father-in-laws house to find all of us in the kitchen yelling out "SURPRISE" when she turned the corner into the kitchen! It was perfect!! She screamed so loud and jumped back, then cried for about 5 minutes! Operation: Surprise Nicole was a success!

After she changed clothes and freshened up, we had some small appetizers and she opened her gifts. I had already given her my birthday gift when we were in NYC, but I couldn't not get her something else!

After gifts we headed to our 8pm reservation at a local seafood restaurant we all love. Earlier in the day we had a birthday cake dropped off, so she was again surprised when the waitress brought her cake out and we all sang "Happy Birthday" to her!

Saturday morning we were up early to head 2 hours to Virginia so Scott and I could knock something off our bucket list: seeing Jimmy Buffett in concert!

Scott and I are HUGE JB fans, so we were very excited! We did some tailgating for about 4 hours before heading into the concert. I didn't take any pictures inside but took a few before we went in. We sang so many songs at the top of our lungs and kept telling each other we have to take a tropical vacation next year!

We had such a great time! The people at Jimmy Buffett concerts do not play around! These people are professionals when it comes to tailgating and decorating their little spots. The oldies were definitely showing us up!

Hope everyone has a great week!
